1. Outline of KOPE, KOPA and KOSA joining with GC 2009
A KOPE, KOPA and KOSA are organized to provide opportunities to study the Korean language and culture for students majoring in the Korean language and culture in Europe, North America and South Asia.
B KOPE, KOPA and KOSA are joining with GC this year. The Global Collaborative strives to promote a better understanding of the East Asian region and the world, in tandem with the current quests for “multiculturalism” and “global trust.” It also aims to provide a new paradigm for higher education by integrating education, research, and practice. Taught by a faculty team of internationally renowned scholars, courses are centered on East Asian Civilization and Global Governance.
C The program offers 4-weeks intensive sessions. KOPE, KOPA and KOSA members study Korean language in the morning and join in GC class in the afternoon.
2. Scholarship Condition
A Tuition fee of Korean language class 941,000(KRW) included: 3 hours a day, 9:00~12:00, Mon.~Fri.
B Dormitory fee 400,000(KRW) included: Double occupancy, furnished with a bed, desk, chair, wardrobe, blanket, pillow and bed sheets are provided. Shower and toilet are equipped in each room.
C Deposit for dormitory 100,000(KRW) included
D Student activity fee 60,000(KRW) included
E Week day culture classes: Taekwondo, Korean song, Korean movie, dance, Global festival
F Required: Application fee 80,000(KRW) is not included in scholarship.
G Required: Material fee around 100,000(KRW) for Korean language class and GC class is not included in scholarship.
H Required: GC class fee 400,000(KRW) is not included in scholarship: 3 hours a day, 1:00~4:00, Mon.~Thur.
l Special discount from 2,800(US dollar) for KOPE, KOPA and KOSA members
I Optional: weekend field trip fee around 100,000(KRW) is not included in scholarship.
3. Korean language course at IIE
A Beginner, intermediate and advanced class are opened at IIE.
B 3 hours a day, 9:00~12:00, Mon~Fri.
C The details of Korean language class is referred to IIE Website: http://iie.ac.kr
4. GC course at OIA (Some classes can be easily closed)
A KOPE, KOPA and KOSA applicants have to choose one class among 6 GC classes (Afternoon Classes).

5. Application Procedure

l One letter of recommendation (the dean of the department or student’s academic advisor)
l Undergraduate/graduate school transcript
l A letter of self-introduction
l A copy of the “picture-page” of the passport
B Applications screened by scholarship program committed
C Notification of the grant sent to each student via e-mail
D Letter of admission sent to each student to obtain visa (differs from nations)
E Final confirmation to participate in the scholarship program given to the students.
