the courses: In the third year of the winter program, FUBiS offers semi-intensive German language classes as well as subject classes on various topics. The FUBiS term I program includes:
• *German Language classes Beginner 1 – Advanced 1
*(five proficiency levels according to the CEFR)
• *From Ancient Sculpture to Action Painting: Art of the Western World *(held in English)
• *European Studies* (held in English)*
• Film as Collaborative Art – Special Focus: Berlinale 2009 *(held in English)*
• Nation and Identity: Images of German Men and Women *(held in German)

A combination of language and subject classes is possible. This allows students to improve their language skills as well as further their knowledge of a subject matter.
Program dates: The courses will take place from January 10 until February 7, 2009.The deadline for registrations is December 22, 2008.
Fees & Tuition: The course tuition is 800 Euro and includes the course material.
The program fee is 150 Euro and includes various excursions and activities such as the visit of the Reichstag building, a trip to the ARD-Hauptstadtstudio (Broadcasting studio of Germany's largest public TV network) or a trip to a Candy Manufactory. Further excursions to Dresden or Stralsund can be booked for an additional fee.
About the program: FUBiS is an intensive, academic program through which students can earn credits that may be counted towards their degrees at their home institutions. FUBiS Sessions run for 4 to 6 weeks and take place both in winter (*term I: January 10 – February 7, 2009*) and summer (term II: June 6 – July 18, 2009 and term III: July 25 – August 22, 2009).
